Make Available Offline Not Working on Mobile App

I keep Offline Versions of several files on my IPhone and IPad.

Recently, many of them disappeared and when I go to “Make Available Offline”, the toggle swipes itself back to OFF within a couple of seconds (almost like it’s not accepting the command)

The file itself opens, but I am unable to download it for offline use on both my IPad and my IPhone.

  • Hey Jay,

I am on a Dropbox Basic Plan (3 devices).

Another note to add is the Make Available feature wasn’t working in just one folder whose name is changed recently.

However, I went back to the main page in Dropbox and once the folder “updated” there, the Make Available Offline feature is working fine!

Hi skadri, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the app, rebooting the device, and re-installing it to see if this helps?

This will remove your current offline files, so you'd need to re-enable them again afterwards.

Keep me updated with any progress!

    Thanks for the update, skadri.

Can you open the Dropbox app, tap on "account", then on the gear icon, then on "clear cache" and then restart the app, to see if that helps?

Hannah I tried that and it didn’t work.

However, as mentioned above, just letting the folder “reupload” after the name change fixed the problem.
