Preview of photos on Dropbox on Mac no more available
Until now, if you had Dropbox installed on your MacBook, you used to be able to view the images with the spacebar as a way to preview them. Now, next to most of the images is this cloud with the arrow pointing down and the preview function doesn't work anymore. Only when I open the image with a double click, it is available afterwards without cloud and with preview function. I already realize that probably the images are not stored locally on my device and that I double click to open the image first and thereby save it locally. But previously all images in my camera upload were directly stored locally and suitable for preview.
Does this have to do with a setting so I can do that again / images are saved locally? Thanks for your help
Could you try marking the files as available offline to see if you get the same issue with the previewing of the files?

Hi bbgain, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you confirm the version of your Mac OS and the Dropbox desktop application?
This will help me to assist further!

If you hover over the Dropbox icon in the menu bar, what version number do you see there?

That way it functions. And then I have the green check mark back too. But earlier it was set like this all time. Do I have to do this now with all new pics?

If you're on the newer version of the Dropbox desktop application for Mac OS, then by defaults files would be online-only.
If you mark folders as available offline, however, any files in those folders would become offline, including new ones.

I have the same problem, I can only see Macbook images instead of previews of the photos. The file is already available offline. How can I solve this?

Hey Nienke77, can you make the file online-only and then available offline again, to see if that helps?

I open them in preview, it takes a minute or so, but then the preview loads. This is a work around but it's all I can figure out without making them local.
