Hey folks,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but we have great news!
We have a build here of the desktop application that we believe should fix this issue:

3 years agoHi everyone, is the file marked as online-only, available offline or available as per this article?

Hi Jay,
The file is marked as Online Only.
When I test this in Windows 10 22H2, the .txt file becomes available (White icon, with the green checkmark), when I double click the file.
This is the behavior we need in Windows 11 22H2.

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all doing well.
Anyone that has the same issue, besides Richie, can you please clarify what’s the app version of your Dropbox app?
Also, are you only having the issue with .txt files or with all files that are online-only?

I have a client that I working with that has the exact same issue. They have Windows 10 22H2 computers as well as Windows 11 22H2 computer and only the new Windows 11 computers have this issue.
Dropbox v.164.4.7914.
The issue is ONLY with the .txt files. No other files have this issue.
Also, it is with .txt files that are in the Online-Only state. If they download the files, then the issue goes away.- Walter3 years ago

Hey Manok02, sorry to hear about this.
Can you please check if this persists on the latest, stable version of the desktop app found on this page?If it does, I'd suggest having your client making the files they'd like to open available offline on their computer first.

Good afternoon,
is there any update regarding this issue? Has the specific version or update that caused this been identified? We have multiple clients who are severely hampered due to this.
