Zip files getting corrupted by Dropbox
So I uploaded the same exact zip file to Dropbox and Mega. Then copy the links from each and download the zip files. The Dropbox one extracts and renames the folder for some reason with a "- 0" at the end and erases half of the folder name. Running the program inside the extracted folder fails. The Mega one downloads normal and runs normal. This sucks and makes no since why the same zip file would act differently from two different places.
Some notes:
I am on Mac Ventura
The zip file size is 18 gigs
I am on an M1 Mac
Those are about the only things that could be an issue I guess? Does not make since how the contents of my Zip file are getting altered though.
Thanks in advance,
Russell

Hi betazero, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Have you tried using a different browser to download the file to see if this helps?
Keep me updated with any progress!
- betazero3 years agoHelpful | Level 6Chrome for mega because it won’t work with safari over 2gigs. I think it was safari for Dropbox. I will test it with chrome to see if it’s browser related.
- cudmore3 years agoNew member | Level 2I am having the same issue with a zip file of a macos app. Copy/paste the zip from a mounted dropbox folder and the app is fine. If I download the zip from a dropbox link, the app is corrupt.

Hey cudmore, sorry to hear about this.
Can you let us know if the issue persists on other browsers or even when using another 3rd party app to unzip/unarchive the mentioned files?

This has actually been an issue with Dropbox for some time. I honestly can't believe they haven't fixed it yet.
Every browser, every system, for quite awhile, now. Each time I sign in thinking I'm going to try again and it's been long enough, I'll click the checkboxes next to all my content, download the zip, wait, and ... corrupt. Half or most of the files are missing in the ZIP or they're there, but their contents aren't.
So, yeah ... same issue as always: the web navigation and options are limited or broken, and your only choice is to be locked in to the app and try to manage files locally, but there's always some problem with that, too. It's been so long that is what it is, I guess -- has to be accepted at this point. - Megan2 years ago

Hi julesrai, welcome to our Community, and sorry to hear about that!
Do you maybe have an idea, as to how many files/folders you're trying to download from the web at once? Does this happen when you try to download your entire content, or even with smaller folders?
You can see more in regards to the size, and how to calculate it here.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
