I had downloaded my files on my Mac, but they're 0 bytes; they don't exist on the web either.
I unsubscribed from Dropbox in March 2024 and downloaded all my files before canceling. However, when I checked today (January 2025), I found that my downloaded files are corrupted (Zero Bytes on Mac...

I don’t remember exactly how I downloaded the files, but at this moment, all of these folders have disappeared.
Could you advise me on how I can restore them?

11 months agoIt looks like, for whatever reason, the files were marked as Online Only and as such you've only moved file containers.
The ONLY WAY now to restore is see if they are still at www.dropbox.com/home and if so download from there, or use the app and mark them as 'available offline'.
However, if they were deleted from your account (see www.dropbox.com/events ) over 30 days ago its not possible to recover at all I'm afraid.

That seems to be the case… If I had known this would happen, I would have used an external hard drive instead of Dropbox.
Is there absolutely no way Dropbox can help recover these files? I have many important files stored, so I would really appreciate any possible solution.
