Shared folder status after owner deletes the account

Account holder who has created shared folder has deleted their Dropbox account and I am still able to access the shared folder content and edit them/delete the files. However, I cannot permanently delete the files inside the shared folder.

What happens to the shared files if I remove my access from shared folder, since there wont be any other members in that shared folder (with owner's account no longer exists)?

Hi there roxster - thanks for joining our Community!

Files are normally owned by the owner of the shared folder and the user who initially uploaded the files to the shared folder so if you remove your access from the folder without keeping a copy of its contents, those files will be deleted and marked for permanent deletion as per our data retention policy

    I hope this helps!
