Backup iCloud Photos in Dropbox

Question

Hi!I'm trying to manually copy my photos stored in iCloud Photo Library to Dropbox as well (not camera upload, but manually). All edits made up to that point and the original file formats (HEIC and HEVC) should be retained.However, for some unknown reason, HEVC videos are always converted to MOV even if the appropriate options on iOS are set correctly. Effects such as SuperHDR are lost as a result.I don't want to have to use Google Photos, but they could do it all automatically and easily. Is there a way to do it with Dropbox? Do you have any experiences?

I am using the iOS app. It doesn’t make any difference whether via share sheet or directly from the app.

I selected the photos for upload on the iPhone. Then I pressed Share and Dropbox and I uploaded into a folder.

Hi Macnerdy, keep in mind that videos are encoded using the HEVC codec, and stored in a MOV container, so the file on disk has .mov as a file extension.&nbsp;
&nbsp;
That extension doesn't mean that it's not HEVC. It's also a MOV file if, for example, you export the video from iPhoto on your mac.
&nbsp;
As far as HDR playback, you should be able to achieve HDR playback on iOS if you mark the file as offline and download it to your device.
