Couldn't upload. Give Dropbox permission to access this file
Hello-
I'm running MacOS 13.0.1 and recently, I have had no luck removing the single badge notification. I have tried everything, reinstalled dropbox several times and now i've removed everything (including hidden files) from the folder I'm syncing and am still receiving the following message regarding a mysterious ".localized" file which dropbox cannot show me when i click 'Go to file:" "Couldn't upload. Give Dropbox permission to access this file."
I need help- I am paying for this service at this point and I really need the application to perform properly.
Thanks
Mike

Hello there, I'm having the same issue. Could you pls help. Have uninstalled and installed DB. Upgraded to lastest version that supports connecting third-party apps. Have checked for hidden files in DB folder (by opening EACH folder)...no love. Checked DB online with a search for "backup_manifest" file and other file to no avail. Any help is appreciated.

Riqiv, can you please follow the steps mentioned in this thread, to fix the permissions of your Dropbox app?
If that doesn’t work either, let me know.

Thank you,
I thing I did the "Fix Permissions" and I JUST DID the "Fix Hardlinks." We'll see if that works!
BTY...I may be doing a Clean Install of my iMac. What need I do with Dropbox before initiating my hard drive???
Thx, Richie

Hi Riqiv, can I send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
- Riqiv3 years agoExplorer | Level 4
To present this as a solution is ridiculous.
There is NO explanation as to how member mikemohr "disengaged" Dropbox.
Please do better 🙂

Hey Riqiv, apologies for that, I think it was done by mistake, since this is an ongoing thread.
Do you still need assistance with this? Can we send you an email, like Megan suggested?
- Riqiv3 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Of course you can.
Email is: [removed per the Dropbox Community Guidelines]
However, I am going to do a Clean Install of my iMac in a week of so for other reasons.
Is their some kind of "deauthorization" I need to with Dropbox on my computer?
(2nd time asking this question 🙂

Thanks, Riqiv.
If you're going to be doing permanent changes to your computer, I would suggest unlinking your computer from your Dropbox account and relinking it, when everything is finished, to avoid any kind of file loss.
Also, before I send you an email, can you also make sure that you've given Dropbox full disk access?

Hi there,
Yes, DB has full access (see screenshot). Thx for the "unlinking" info. Why don't we wait for my Clean Install and see if the issue persists.
