Dropbox Mac Beta: Green Circles are gone - everything has the cloud symbol

I am assuming work is being done in the background, but as of a few days ago, I no longer have green circles for downloaded (available offline) files. Everything has a cloud symbol (that symbol doesn't even exist in the online documentation) but seems to be available offline.

I am also getting lots of sync errors - but my files appear to be still on my computer (where I need them). And yesterday the DROPBOX icon disappeared from my sidebar (Locations). Only to show up again hours later. Strange.

What is going on? These sync irregularities seem to be quite substantial. Syncing files is what Dropbox is all about. I am a little surprised this beta version was even released to the public. When I joined the beta, the email I got from dropbox made it sound like the final release was imminent.

Hi THX1965, can you also try out these steps?

If you edit a file, does the small circular syncing icon like that on the article appear, even if momentarily? If you right/control click a file and choose either "make available offline" or "make online-only", do you see any change?

Thanks, Megan - yes, you were right, "early releases" was on. (I thought the Beta automatically moves the Dropbox folder to the new CloudStorage location in macOS Ventura - I had clicked on "Leave Beta". I am confused...).

I have now turned "early releases" off and installed the latest stable version through the link you sent me. The Dropbox app is currently indexing my 350k+ files. And yes, the only issue I have is not seeing any sync icons. They still don't show up after installing Stable Build 170.4.5895

The files below are in my Dropbox folder, on my hard drive, and on Dropbox.com. But there is no indication of their sync status.

Hi Megan - I followed the steps from your link and disabled the one other Finder extension that was active - BetterZip, a very helpful little helper - https://macitbetter.com/

But now the sync icons are back. They came right back after force-quitting the Finder. Thank you so much for your help.

So, I guess, BetterZip's Finder extension is incompatible with Dropbox's Finder extension. Should I report this to the developer of BetterZip?

    Awesome news THX1965

I'm glad everything is back on track. If another third-party app uses and interacts with your content like BetterZip, then that would justify things.

If you need anything else, give me a shout!

Easy way to solve it as customer support offered.

Just select all the folders from your root path of dropbox and right click to click "make available offline". Then the green circle check marks are back,
