Files not syncing for days, on my laptop I need help.
my dropbox files are syncing days later on my laptop than on my desktop just out of the blue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my laptop but files that are on my desktop the last 48 hours are still not showing on my laptop. they will eventually arrive up to a week later.
any suggestions
this started out of the blue and I never had issues before.
thanks in advance

What does Dropbox say if you mouse over its icon on the status bar of the machine not syncing properly. Is it giving errors etc.?
- bizarrodancer2 years agoExplorer | Level 4Hey Mark
It tells me my files are up to date. I've tried pausing and resuming sync but the files that uploaded to my desktop over the past few days are still not appearing. Windows updates all complete too.
Can't understand it. The files will eventually make their way across but it might not happen for days.

Hi bizarrodancer, let's jump right into this!
Can you clarify the OS you're using on your desktop, along with the version of the Dropbox app that you use there, and the precise syncing status?
That'll help me have a clear idea on what steps we should follow next.
Also, how large are the files you uploaded there?
Let me know more!

Using windows 11.
Latest version of app recently installed as part of my trouble shooting.
Syncs instantly and tells me files up to date.
Files not synced on my laptop in 5 days
Files 1,000kb each

Outstanding files actually synced 39mins ago on my laptop and appear now in my sync history but not in my activity folder.
Unexplained lag of 5 days.

Hey bizarrodancer, so just to make sure we're on the same page here: both your desktop, and your laptop are "up to date" at the moment?
Could you kindly send me a few screenshots of your activity folder, along with your syncing status and what you see there?
If you check online, are you able to see your files there?
If I were you, I'd also check this Help Center article.

Due to data privacy I can't send you screenshot but the filed all say last added 5 days ago and sync status is files are up to date - Megan2 years ago

Are we referring to the laptop or your desktop bizarrodancer?
Since both devices are up-to-date, you should be able to see the changes reflected both on the web, and inside the Dropbox folder on each of the devices, is that so?
- bizarrodancer2 years agoExplorer | Level 4Think I found the issue Megan. IT installed new monitor and desktop but when setting up only had Dropbox folder on desktop and not the app. It was when I installed the app that everything started to sync again. It still doesn't explain why there was a lag in syncing from my desktop Dropbox to my laptop app.
- bizarrodancer2 years agoExplorer | Level 4I could see the changes on desktop but not on the laptop. The file folder on laptop was not up to date.
Now I've installed the app on desktop it's all working fine again.
