How does an account storage downsize affect shared files?

Hello! I had used a Dropbox account for my old employer but no longer work for them. I was not a part of a "team," and instead just had access to folders and would upload files from my account to these folders. I also created folders within these shared folders.

My employer had paid for the Premium plan, so after leaving, I stopped the payments for a larger storage plan and was downgraded to the Basic Plan. I received an email recently stating, "This is a reminder that your account is currently over its storage limit. If your storage is still over the limit, we’ll take steps to bring your account within the limit. This includes deleting files and leaving shared folders."

How does this impact documents I had uploaded to shared folders? Does this remove any document I have uploaded to shared folders? If they delete, does it prevent other members of the shared folders to see the document, or does it only remove my access to the document?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the documents in shared folders are extremely important files, and the "take action or else" date is next week.

Thank you!
