I get a conflicted copy when exporting videos via a third-party app.
Hi there,
Every time I export a video from Premiere - since the process takes a while - Dropbox creates a new copy (something about conflicted copy and a timestamp). Do I need to pause Dropbox every time I export a video now?
Dropbox has become increasingly buggy since the last big upgrade. Making files online only without my permission, messing everything up.

Hi fedeboraxx, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Is this file in a shared folder when exporting from Adobe, or on their own cloud service?
Does the app create a temporary copy of the file and then overwrite it during the export process?
This will help me to assist further!

Hey Jay,
The file is being rendered into my dropbox folder (not the Adobe cloud, of course).
I don't know if it creates a temp file, but i imagine this is something many of your users do as well (exporting video).

Do you have any other apps or services that could be monitoring the Dropbox folder at the same time as the creation of the file? This could be security software, indexing services, or anything else similar?

Hey fedeboraxx, can you actually send us a screenshot of how the name of the conflicted copy appears on your end, since you also mentioned something about a timestamp, so we can look into that?

Has this ever been resolved? For the last few months, every time I export a video using Adobe Media Encoder, there are two files appearing in the destination folder: one that is corrupted and cannot be played, but it has the correct name, and a playable file with the addition (Conflicted copy) after the name that the file should have.

Thanks for that! So, from what I understand, this is only happening when using Adobe Media Encoder, correct? Do you have another similar third-party app perhaps that you can test this with?
Also, does the issue persist even if you temporarily quit the Dropbox app?

I have exactly the same problem with exporting from Adobe Premiere or Media Encoder.
Exporting from DaVinci Resolve works fine.
I’m on macOS 15.6, using an M1 Max MacBook Pro, and Dropbox version 236.4.5918.
