I'm not able to upload photos to Dropbox from my Android phone to my laptop
I got a new Galaxy S25+ phone. Dropbox is & has been installed on both. I've never had an issue transferring photos from my phone to Dropbox on my laptop before. On my S25+. It shows the photos in a Dropbox file. But won't transfer or sync to laptop. Frustrating!

Hey Buck5271, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you please describe the steps you're following?
Are you plugging your phone in to your laptop or are you using the Camera Uploads feature directly from the Dropbox app on your phone?
Any additional info on your process, will be really helpful.
Thanks!

Hi Hannah,
These are the same steps I have followed,,, without fail or problems,,, for years.
When I want or need to transfer or add photos from my phone. To Dropbox on my laptop. I simply check the photos I want. The click, Add to Dropbox. I'm asked What Folder. Pick the Folder. The Click Add. Boom! Photos are added, no issues. No plugging in my phone to laptop. Also, the Dropbox app on my phone. Isn't showing all the content in my Dropbox on my laptop.

HI Mike B.40, could you attach a screenshot showing what you're seeing when you connect your phone to your computer?

This is what shows up when I try to share from my phone to Dropbox on my laptop. I haven't connected phone to laptop via a direct cable.

Are you sure you're signed in to the same Dropbox account on both your laptop and your phone? When people swap devices it's not uncommon that they sign in with a different account. That would explain why files you upload don't appear on the laptop, and files on the laptop aren't appearing on the phone.
Check the Dropbox application on both the phone and laptop and make sure they're both using the same email address. If they're different, sign out of Dropbox on your phone and sign in with the same email address you see on the laptop.

Well I signed out of Dropbox on phone & laptop. Have both accounts same email & password. Didn't work. Still frustrating. Appreciate the suggestion though.

Hey Buck5271 let me also jump in here!
If you check your account online, are you able to see your files there?
Would you mind clarifying your laptop's OS, along with the app's version and current syncing status please? You should be able to locate the version you're using, by locating your little Dropbox icon, on your taskbar next to your WiFi and hovering your mouse over it.

Good Morning [here in Iowa] Megan,
My OS's on my [2] laptops. The one I use most is Windows 11 The other Windows 10. Never has been issues with either. Until this new phone. Now, my phone isn't even showing up as a connected device, with no option to add a device.
The Dropbox Icon also isn't available/visible to check syncing status. Also, on my phone Dropbox account. At the top. There is "Sync Files" , highlighted. But when I tap it. I get a screen, says 'Access your computers files on this [my phone] device'. Then there's a Set Up bar. I tap the Set Up bar. Then I am asked to go to 'dropbox.com/connect'.
The whole process is like, rinse & repeat. Another thing. I cannot see or view all my photos & files online, on my Dropbox Account. That are in my Dropbox folder[s], on my laptops.
Whew. I have tried to lay it all out. Question. Should I delete all my Dropbox accounts on both laptops & phone? Re-install?
Thank You

Hi again, Buck5271.
First of all, let's not delete anything just yet, we need to make sure we don't lose any files, but we'll get to the bottom of this.
If you don't see a Dropbox icon in your taskbar/system tray on your computer, it means that the Dropbox application (that syncs your files to your computer) is not running.
Can you simply reinstall the app from here, without uninstalling it first and let us know if the Dropbox icon returns?

I think we may be making progress. I do have the Dropbox Icon now. But still no Sync action or option. Nothing has changed on my phone. Every time I attempt to ADD to Dropbox photos from my phone gallery. I cannot choose a folder other than Camera Uploads. It show the photos are uploaded to Dropbox on my phone app. But will NOT transfer to my laptop Dropbox App. When I tap the Sync Files on my phone. It still sends me to Set Up, the SCAN box, to get the Dropbox App. Which I have done, 2-3 times.
I'm convinced it's all a Sync issue. But when I go to Sync Issues. It says,,, No Sync Issues here. [sigh]
