Mac OS - Files are unable to sync according to the desktop app

I am getting the sync issues message with macos.

When I press the "view file" button, nothing happens if finder is not already open. If a finder window is already open, it just brings finder to the top and does not does the file.

Is this a bug or is there any solution?

Hi MrRichie, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Are you able to locate these file names manually in Finder within the Dropbox folder?

This will help me to assist further!

Hey MrRichie, let me jump in here too!

Also, what’s the OS version of your computer, as well as the Dropbox app version?

If there's a chance that these are hidden files, then you can press Command + Shift + . (the period key) to show them in your Finder.

    I'm on Sonoma 14.5
    Dropbox v 203.4.4857

This has been an issue for a few months, but Its only that it has bugged me enough to find a solution.

The files are not hidden files.

    Hey MrRichie!

It might sound trivial, but have you tried signing out of the app and then back in?

If you locate these files online, and rename it does that work?

I have signed out of the app and signed backed in.

That was 24 hours ago now and it is still "indexing....".

I'm having the same problem with Sonoma 14.5 and Dropbox 203.4.4857. I've reinstalled the app. I've also tried logging out and back in. The files can be found both locally and in Dropbox online, but I'm still getting sync errors. Some file have been synced for well over a year.

It looks like I was able to fix my problem, which may be the same as yours. Some how the permissions for one very large folder got messed up. I went one level higher, where the file permissions were correct, and applied the correct permissions to all the enclosed folders. After that, the folder was able to sync properly. I hope that this helps!
