Shared Folder Does Not Exist Message
Someone shared a folder with me but when I click on the link it says that the folder does not exist.
How do I fix this?

Hi Peter Seferian, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you check this page to see if the folder is visible there?
This will help me to assist further!

Hi Jay,
Nothing is currently visible in that folder. - Jay3 years ago

How exactly did they share a folder with you? Was it an email directly from Dropbox, or was it a normal email from them with a shared link to a folder?

It was a normal email with the dropbox link.

Okay, so this sounds like a shared link to a file or folder. If you're getting an error, then it could mean that the link was incorrect, or the location it's referring to is no longer there.
I'd recommend contacting the person who sent you the link to check it on their end and resend you the correct link.

Peter Seferian did you ever get a resolution to this? This happens to me every time someone sends a link to a shared folder. It's been happening for years.

Hey moroneypatrick, hope it's OK to jump in.
Do you have a screenshot of the error that you can send me? I can have a look for you, if you want.

Here is the error. I think I realized that the client had changed the name of the root folder on their end, as in theirs says "NAFA Patrick M Design" and mine says just "NAFA". So when they create the link based on that path, it comes that it does not exist.

What is the best way to fix this going forward? It is a shared folder that was originally shared by me.

Thanks for the additional info, moroneypatrick!
You mention there’s a discrepancy when it comes to the name of the folder. What if the client changes the name of the folder back to “NAFA”? Do you keep seeing the same error?
