Someone shared a folder with me, and it immediately said I'm out of storage.

Never used DropBox before.   Started a new position and was emailed an invite to edit a folder on DropBox by a co-worker.   My questions are:   This folder is quite large and when I created my log in...

    Hi Rags1, welcome to our Community! 

     

    A shared folder takes up space on both the sender's and the receiver's Dropbox account. 

     

    If you have a Basic 2GB account, and someone shared with you a folder that's 2GB or more, that would immediately reduce your quota, and put you out of space.

     

    If you wish, you can ask the user to share a link with you, but that would allow you to view and download the file, and not edit.
