Way to located the sync problem, since my Mac device is stuck syncing?
Hey!!
I upload plenty of Logic Pro X (music production) projects to my dropbox (over 1 TB now) via dropbox sync backup through a physical external harddisk.
I recieved som sync issues regarding the use of backslash which is not allowed in Dropbox's system. when I click the "show file" ("vis fil" in Norwegian) button to see where the problem is located it just sends me to finder. Not in a new window or anything, just regular finder in the window it already was showing..
I know the file is a preset (.pst) inside a plugin deep inside an unknown project. HOW am I supposed to find out where the problem is located when dropbox doesn't help me show it? I have dozens and dozens upon projects and no clue where to look, just for me to change the "\" to something else.
All help is much appreciated. It’s completely frozen and I haven't backed up anything since September because of this...

Hi there Aadne - sorry to hear about your syncing issue.
Have you tried locating the files on the website and rename them to see if that helps improve matters at all?
You can give this a try when you get the chance and let us know of any updates!

I can't locate them on the website because they won't upload until I change the file name. (They are not there)
And because it’s impossible find the files locally I'm quite lost.
Is it supposed to stop all upload when it encounters an issue? why can't the rest of my harddisk get uploaded just because one/some file(s) have issues?

Hey Aadne, I see, thanks for letting me know!
Have you tried searching for the file names in your Finder?
Also, can you clarify the exact OS, along with the app's syncing status and Dropbox version, in order for me to have a clear picture, please?

Hey Megan! I FINALLY got the rest of the files to upload after some clever thinking -> I found the latest item uploaded to dropbox, checked the date and did some advanced finder searches to find all the projects uploaded that day on my harddisk. Deleting one by one until the problem was solved!
BUT - Dropbox still tells me there's a problem. I got my files up and running so I'm happy, but maybe we could solve this aswell.
My OS is Sonoma 14.1
Dropbox v192.4.4605
"Could not synchronize files" in Norwegian
"145 problems"
All of the 145 problems are related to ".pst" files including backslash.
the reason I can't just search in finder for the files is because these small files inside Logic projects don't come up when I search for them (it’s presets for an effect plugin on one of the many tracks inside a project if that tells you anything). I need to go deep inside the project folder to actually be able to search for the files. And doing that one-by-one is a time consuming task.

Hi Aadne, glad we're getting there one step at a time!
I definitely see where you're coming from, and it's not ideal, however I'm afraid that doing it one-by-one is the only way that I know of, that this can be done.
Also, the backlash seems to be the culprit of these specific syncing issues, that need to be renamed.
