Lost earned space
Having used Dropbox over the years, I had up until a week or so ago around 11gb. Suddenly its all gone and I am at 2gb.
I do not have backup activated, this is just simple storage of files.
Please help me recover this asap.
Many thanks to the community for being there 🙂
When you get a chance when you're at home, please could you forward the screenshot, since any referral quota will automatically appear on that page.

Why can I not see the solution to this issue? We also have this situation with our account.

There was no solution, it just fixed itself. I wish I could be more help but it appeared to be some strange glitch that resolved itself.

Thanks! Hoping Jay sees my recent post. I too checked my referrals page and should have twice the storage I do. It's so frustrating!

My data limit dropped from 6.5gb to the default of 2. I went to check my refer friends list which had 4.5gb listed as promo add-ons and all of a sudden I went from out of space back to my 6.5gb limit...

For what it's worth... dropbox has done this to me twice now. I think they hope I'll forget how to get my referal limits back?

Dropbox doesn't remove bonus space earned from referrals, so it's likely just a glitch. The only time they'll remove referral space is when the system is abused. Otherwise referral space is permanent.

Thank you for the response Rich. However, this has happened twice now and I wait a few days for the glitch to fix itself (it usually does - just not twice) than go in check referals and it suddenly starts working again... I try and keep my box to no more than 3gb out of 7 just to be safe. So it some sort of ghost or the token has fallen out of the ring...

Hi dgm5307, sorry to hear about that!
Keep an eye on it, and if this happens again or if you wish for us to have a closer look into it I can send you an email, just to check some account-specific info there.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi Megan
I've sent emails to support in the past, they get ignored and auto responded to with a please post in the forums as you don't have this level of support. However, I will save this thread and so when it happens again in 2 or 3 years...
Thank you, Dave

Same problem, but also lost all my files! I made the mistake of logging out, and when I logged back I had one 2gb storage and most of my files were gone. Help!
