Online my account is full but on the desktop app it shows less space is used.
Hi Guys,
My local Windows Dropbox is fully synced with my online Dropbox. Windows Explorer file/properties shows my Dropbox folder is 576 MB but to my surprise, dropbox.com and dropbox app both say my dropbox is full. I have checked the plan tab and found my regular file size is 3.4 GB which is not correct. My shared folder only takes less than 100 MB. What is going on here? Why the discrepancy? Any inputs?
Thanks,
Tao
We can confirm that the most recent releases of Dropbox should have resolved this issue. Users affected by this issue were unable to see all of the backups on their account. This meant that when they believe they deleted some or all of their files, there could still be backups taking up space on their account. This should no longer be affecting users who should be able to see all of their backups.
You can find out deleted information on disabling and deleting backups below:
If you disable the backup and choose to "Leave content in Dropbox", your backup content would still be there until it was permanently deleted.
When you go to the Backups page and see no content, be sure to check the deleted section, too.
You can download the files from this location if you need to store them locally on your device.
To clear out the data from the deleted backup, follow these steps:- Navigate to
dropbox.com/backup/all - Click on
Show deleted backups - Select their backup and click on
permanently delete
Some users did not have backups, but they were members of shared folders which were taking up space on their accounts. You can remove shared folders using these instructions.
If you are still experiencing quota issues after following these steps, then confirm that we can reach out to you via email and our support agents will look into this with you.- Navigate to

Hello community,
I am looking for answers regarding the aggressive promotion policy from Dropbox. Although I have earned via promotions extended storage (5.75 GB - see image2), on other page (see image 1) it says I am using 5.25 out of 2GB. What comes next? Will my files be deleted or?
Thank you.

Image 2 is accurate. It's showing you the plan your on, not your total storage quota. A Basic plan includes 2GB of space to start, with the ability to earn more (as you have).
You don't need to upgrade if you don't want to. Just ignore the message and continue using Dropbox as you have. Your files won't be deleted, even if you were over your quota. Syncing might stop until you're back below your storage limit, but your files wouldn't be deleted as long as the account is active.

I have deleted every file from Dropbox, there are no shared folders. I unistallad Dropbox on all devices. The Drpobox All file show no files, 0 shared files.
Yet the Plan tab says that 1.1 GB is used.
How to fix this? Where are these files?

- raidtariq4 years agoExplorer | Level 4Hi,
I know this is not new and I read the others issue with this but none was helpful.
I got the Full Use of Storage notification while I gave over 70% not used. It says 7.25G used of 7.25G while in fact I use only 1.5G.
I went back and delere some files, it even makes it worst. Deleting more… geting more used space.
None of these below attempt helped:
1- Cleaned the cache.
2- Delete old files throught dropbox website.
3- Unshard the old folders that is nit in use anymore.
4- Permanently delete all files that are in the recycled box.
5- Uninstalled and reinstall Dropbox.
6- Signed out and sign in again.
7- unlink and relink my account.
No matter what do, or deleting more files, Dropbox use more space. It might be a bug that will fix automatically, but I want to share or report this issue
Thanks,
