Cannot log in to Dropbox anymore
Hi there,
Since migrating to a new Mac (via Time Machine) I can no longer log in to Dropbox in the Mac app. I put my username and password, then type in the code sent to me by email, and it fai...

I have a similar issue. My Mac's drive has just been replaced and alone of all the logins only the Dropbox app has failed, it's fine in Chrome. My phone is not affected and I've tried a password reset using the email address shown on my phone but have not received a p/w reset email [and I've looked in Spam!].
I've tried a reinstall but just as before I'm told my email or p/w is wrong. My browser also logged in to dropboxforum.com with no trouble,
I thought I'd change my p/w on my phone, but AFAICS I can change my name, but not my email address or p/w and it seems the same in Chrome.
If I can't access files on my Mac I guess I'll just move everything to iCloud and close the account.
Hope you guys can help, CC

3 years agoHi Colin C.16, is your email on a public email provider, or a private business domain?

It's a private domain, Jay, but aliases to gmail. Cheers, Colin

Are you certain that the alias is working correctly, and that no emails are being automatically filtered out by the private domain handler?

It's an idea. It has happened in the past, but very rarely and I'm not aware of it happening consistently.
I assume there is no way to test this by changing my email address unless I can log in first, which clearly I can't … Or for that matter of a human sending a p/w change link.
I'd like just to abandon Dropbox as I have plenty of iCloud space, but one app I have uses it and of course the Mac version of it can't update.
Cheers, CC
