Question or Issue
Hi
Recently got a new MacBook Air and added DropBox to the Tool Bar, but can no longer drag n drop files into DropBox like I used to on previous Mac.
Have completed uninstalled Dropbox and reloaded - same problem.
Have googled what to do extensively but no joy.
My Mac is running latest Sequoia 15.6.1
Any thoughts? Thanks
Hey LondonTraveller67, great job with the screenshots, thank you so much!
Can you also check your app's preferences, and specifically under your "Account" tab to see if your account is linked there?
It might sound trivial, but have you tried signing out of the app and then back in?

Hi there, LondonTraveller67, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you please clarify where you're trying to drag and drop your files?
Are you dropping them to the small Dropbox icon in your menu bar at the top of your screen or the Dropbox icon in your dock at the bottom of your screen?
What happens when you do drag and drop them?
Does drag and drop work when you drag files into the Dropbox folder in your finder?
Keep me posted.

Hi Hannah
Thanks - bit difficult to describe but...
I click on the Dropbox logo in the tool bar and that brings up icons one of which is Dropbox folder, then all my files are there on the right, while on the left you have icloud drive > documents > desktop > shared, then under that (locations) My Macbook > Macintosh HD > Dropbox...previously I could just drag and drop into that last one, and it would pop up in the list of Dropbox files on the right.
And one thing I forgot to say before, I made sure my Dropbox folder is signed in correctly etc.
Thanks

When I try to drag and drop them you get a pop up that says "Are you sure you want to remove X <name of doc> from iCloud drive" but when I try to do that another small pop up appears that says "Could not connect to Dropbox"

Thanks for the update, LondonTraveller67!
Would it be possible to send me a couple of screenshots, showing the steps you're following and the error message as well, so we can have a visual, please?

Hi
Don't really want to share a screenshot on a public forum that will show my file names...I've described everything as best I can step by step above.

Hi from me as well, LondonTraveller67! You can hide any personal/confidential info that may be showing in your screenshot first, before uploading it here. In general, we ask for a visual of what you see to have a clearer idea of what may be happening.
Other than that, do you get the same error if you try to drag a file to your Dropbox folder from a location that’s not related to iCloud?

Hi
OK - please see the attached.
In the 3rd one it says "This is an unlinked dropbox" but I only have one dropbox account and all the files are mine - as I said, I deleted Dropbox from my Mac and redownloaded so I don't understand that particular message.
Image 1 is what I get when I click on Dropbox icon in my toolbar
Image 2 is what then comes up
Image 3 is what comes up when I try to drag something from desktop to "dropbox" (as in image 2)
Image 4 is the message I get when I try action in image 3
Thanks

Thank you - yes it was linked, but signed out and signed back in again, and that seems to have done the trick (although I had previously deleted Dropbox and reinstalled, and that did not.) Anyway all working now, thank you.
