Dropbox application suddenly not working with Windows 11
Yesterday, I noticed that Dropbox was no longer connected on my laptop running Windows 11. There is no system tray icon for Dropbox, and clicking on the start menu app icon does nothing at all; same for "Open Dropbox" on the website. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted multiple times, tried different firewall settings, redownloaded the installer, but no luck with anything. A previous thread discusses a similar problem, but no solution:
https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/Windows-11-Upgrade-and-cannot-get-Dlox-to-work-properly/td-p/566989
I found the solution by logging out of my Windows 11 user account and downloading Dropbox while logged in on the Visitor account. I switched back to my user account and was able to open the Dropbox app and link my account. Very strange.

Nancy, I have been out of town and away from the computer in question, which I did not want to post on a public forum beforehand. I am now back home. Please reopen the support ticket.

Same problem ... offline installer does not work. It does not automatically run (I think) but when I click on "restart the download" I get the following:

I should add that I've tried every suggestion that I've seen. All of a sudden stopped syncing (maybe after a recent Windows update, but not entirely sure).

Hey pafnooty, sorry to see you're having an issue with the Dropbox desktop app.
Are you also not seeing the Dropbox icon in your system tray?
If you see it, can you please hover over it with your mouse, to see the app's sync status?

Sorry, pafnooty. Have you tried switching user accounts on the computer and reinstalling on the other account? It hasn't happened to me again, but I also received a message that it could be related to security or firewall settings. Good luck!

The dropbox icon disappeared. Everything works fine on my laptop (also Windows 11).
UPDATE: all of a sudden this morning, without me doing anything, the icon appeared and everything synced. Go figure. It felt like a gaslighting experience! 🙂 I still want to know what could have happened, because it really threw me off for over a week.
