"Dropbox Unexpectedly Quit" error on two Windows 11 computers
The Windows 11 Dropbox app updated on Wednesday and now repeatedly crashes. Software version 219.45.4463. The problem is present on two W11 devices, both received the Dropbox update. Dropbox and Windows 11 has been reinstalled on one device. Both are company managed and had no issues with Dropbox prior to this update.
Error message: Dropbox Unexpectedly Quit
Your files are safe. Restart Dropbox to resume sync and other features.
I have gone through Event Viewer but don't see any crash logs related to Dropbox.

I've run through all those steps with our IT team and/or it was already working previously.

Thanks for the update, Jacob.
Can you also try these advanced reinstall steps, to see if they help?

No change. I was able to complete steps 1-4 and 11, but RegEdit did not have any of the dropbox folders and they were missing from file explorer in steps 8 and 10.

The previous stable release 218.4.4348 also crashes. I was hoping since that worked before it would work again but it did not.

Hi jacob m, in order to look into this matter in more detail, I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate further.

This problem has been going on for a year or more now, no fix from Dropbox. Every time I paste or drag files into any Dropbox app folder File Explorer freezes. When I crash and restart File Explorer the files have always been successfully pasted. Dropbox says I am using 560MB of 13.5GB capacity on my free level, so this is not a capacity issue. Windows 11 Pro v 10.0.26100, Dropbox v 221.3.5302 Dropbox needs to pay attention and fix this.

Hi Bulldog87, could you try reinstalling the Dropbox desktop application, without uninstalling it first, by using this link?

Done, thanks, seems to work for now.
