Dropbox website is extremely slow when accessing or uploading files
Hey, guys.
Long-time Dropbox user, but perhaps not for very much longer. Every time I try to go to Dropbox in the last couple of days, it is unresponsive.
* No matter what browser I use
* No matter which part of the website I try to access (it took 20 minutes to update a payment method)
* Uploads (65 files, 15Mb each) estimated to take "days." Completely hangs.
* Speedtest.net reports that my upload speeds are close to 1Gb.
* Bitdefender has dropbox.com whitelisted.
* I'm on ethernet connection... not WiFi.
I really need a resolution here, or I'm going to have to put another solution in place.

Hi Incognitii, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Are you able to access the site normally from another device entirely while on the same network?
Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
This will help me to assist further!

It happens on all devices, and all browsers. Bitdefender only runs on my desktop. This also happens on iPad and iPhone... and all browsers on desktop. Dropbox.com has been whitelisted on Bitdefender.

Are you able to try another network entirely to see if the speeds are affected there?

Not at this time, no.

Hey Incognitii - sorry to jump in here, but have you tried temporarily disabling Bitdefender and rebootiing your computer and internet router since you first noticed this?

My wife isn't running Bitdefender, and it's happening to her, too... and no, I haven't taken the fiber router/modem down.
Seriously... should I have to? This doesn't happen on anyone else's site. Just yours. - Walter2 years ago

You shouldn't have to normally, but you can try it as a test for now Incognitii

The website became almost unusable for me too. I use the desktop app and works fine but when accessing to other account via browser I have the same problems as you and just browsing through folders becomes painfully slow. There are many reports about this but they seem not to care at all.

Just for info I have also stopped using the Dropbox website - Navigation is fine for me but when checking the deleted items, uploading/browsing files and folders, viewing Photos it's far too slow to be usable. This applies when using both home or work connections/PC's.

Hey Alexoptimistic & Dave111 - thanks for flagging this with us. Do you notice any difference after clearing your browser's cache, on another browser or even an incognito window?
