I'm trying to link my desktop app, but I get an error there are too many devices connected.
I got a new laptop and I'm trying to link this device to my work email dropbox but it won't link even after unlinking them on my account. it keeps saying that device limit has been reached but I've logged it off on my PC.
I even removed all device on the security section. now I'm not sure why it's not logging in.
Hi Walter, apparently it was actually limited by the admin it is now all good I'm able to logged in Thank you for all the help

Have you tried a reinstall?
Note that if its the work account I dont believe there are limits on it unless an Admin has applied those separately.

I have tried to install and uninstall the app.
it is a work account but itās weird cause I already unlinked everything so it should be able to log in already

Hi from me as well, abanceā! Since it looks like youāre part of a Dropbox team indeed (according to your screenshot), Iād also suggest checking this with your admin, in case theyāve enabled device approvals.
Other than that, there shouldnāt be a limit to how many devices youāve linked to a paid Dropbox account (the 3-device limit only applies for free Basic Dropbox accounts).

Hi Nancy thank you for answering, yes I am part of a dropbox team. I think it is dropbox advanced. I'll try to ask the dropbox admin. it's so weird cause I even removed everything and even on my account it says no device linked.

Thanks for the additional information abance - much appreciated.
In this case, your team admin might have set a limit for the devices you can link to your account and you'd need to check with them directly.
Let us know if you have any other questions in the meantime.

but how come even if I unlinked one device it still showed that I used all limit for this account?

I'm afraid I won't be able to tell without taking a look at your account's specifics abance - did you check with your team admin by any chance?
