I cannot upload Word or PowerPoint files to Dropbox
Hello,
I wondered if someone had any advice please?
All of a sudden, I can't seem to upload any Word or Power Point documents onto Dropbox. It has just stopped working. Excel files seem to be ok and I can create folders, I just can't seem to upload anything into them.
Has anyone experienced this before or got any advice please?
Many thanks
Andrea

Hey AndreaOB, thanks for letting us know about this.
Can you give us some more info on the issue?
Are you trying to upload the files through our website, through the Dropbox folder on your computer, or the mobile app?
Do you get any error messages when you try?
And is it possible that you've run out of space in your account?
Keep me posted!

Hi Hannah,
Thanks for your reply! It is uploading documents to a Dropbox Folder on my own Computer. I thought it may be the space issue, but I can upload excel documents. It just seems to be word and power point that I can't upload.
There isn't an error message either. I only noticed when I went back in to check something and realised it wasn't there and everything in the past week just doesn't appear in the folders.
Any help at all would be appreciated!
Thanks
Andrea

Thanks for the update here, Andrea!
So, if you're using the Dropbox folder on your computer to add the files, do you mean that you're adding them, but for some reason they don't sync to your account?
What if you move them out of the Dropbox folder and then back in?
Also, what's the sync status of the Dropbox application? You can see that by hovering over the Dropbox icon in your system tray/menu bar with your mouse.

If you can't upload photos and videos to Dropbox, check how much of your space you're using. Maybe the files you're trying to upload put your account over quota. Then ensure your connection is stable and temporarily disable other cloud apps, as well as your security tools.

Hi Hannah,
Yes, all of this seems fine. It is very random! It is literally just an issue uploading a word document from my PC into the Dropbox folders I have created.
I'll keep working on it and hopefully will be able to resolve it. 🙂

Thanks neilrobertson23 for your input!
And thanks Andrea for keeping me in the loop. It's strange that you're adding files in the Dropbox folder and they're randomly not syncing.
One more thing I could suggest is to check for any incompatible characters in the names of the files, that might cause them not to sync.
But do let us know what you come up with, if you resolve this.
Thanks!
