Hi nidhiloveschocolate, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Does your device meet the terms and conditions as mentioned in this article?
Are you using this one new or existing Dropbox account?
Keep me posted!

nidhiloveschocolate, can you clarify what happens exactly when you try to redeem the Acer promotion?
Did you log in to your Dropbox account and the promotion wasn’t applied or did you receive any kind of errors?

You should be able to just open Dropbox and log on to it - via the preinstalled software. You cannot download a version from here.
Then you need to complete www.dropbox.com/gs and it should activate as long as you've not had a promo before.

The offer is only valid if you use a preinstalled Dropbox client.
If one isnt installed your device is not eligible. Downloading from the website will null and void any offer. You'd need to revert back to factory default settings IF it was available preinstalled.

Thats only something you can decide. The popup could have been malware from a bad website.
However the pop up, if genuine, should have let you log on and automatically configure Dropbox. If it didnt / it isnt installed my guess is its not genuine.
The only way to check is to reformat everything back to system factory settings and see what happens/if Dropbox is installed.
