Promo Discount on Checkout Not Working

I went to purchase a 2TB single user plan.
A pop up appeared offering me a 25% discount if I purchased now,
I accepted the Discount Claim, but the total price does not change.
Whats the point of offering a discount if it doesn't work.
It's just a scam??

    Do you happen to have a screenshot of the pop-up so that we can have a look too?

     

    Were you navigating your Dropbox account when you first noticed it?

     

    Also, when you say the price doesn't change, could you send us a screenshot of the page you're navigating to when you see this as well?

    I have the same problem. I also went to purchase a 2TB single user plan. A pop up appeared offering me a 25% discount if I purchased now, I also clicked "Claim my discount", but the total price on the page does not change. Will the discount be applied later in the process? It's not at all clear this will happen.

    Hi DTMUK, did you continue to purchase a subscription at that point? Did the price change when applied?

    When the price didn't change I did not trust it. So I did not purchase yet.

    G'day Walter,
    The pop up is the same as shown in the post below by DTMUK
    Yes, I was in my Dropbox Account window.
    I was filing out my payment details, I waited maybe 60 seconds contemplating the purchase before the pop up appeared.
    When the discount did not apply to my total, I got out of that window and went back to purchase a 2TB single plan.
    Same thing happened.
    I did it 3 times and after that I gave up on the Discount and purchased the plan paying full price.

    It was almost like a come-on because I was slow on completing the purchase.

    In the end I spoke to the customer service chat, and they asked for a screenshot which I uploaded to them in the chat. They assured me that I could go ahead and to give them time to process the discount. So I went ahead, and at no point during the checkout was the discount applied - so it is as the customer service chat said - they need time to process it. So far I have an email confirming I have paid full price, but nothing confirming the discount has been applied. I do hope and expect this will be sorted out when the customer services team come into work today.

    As the other user says, it was as if the offer was meant to encourage me to complete the purchase, as I was still thinking about it. If so it worked, the offer did make me decide to go ahead on that basis. But it also means I expect Dropbox to only charge me the discounted rate.
