Hey lantheaume, thanks for posting your question today!
Indeed, upon upgrading an individual subscription to the Family plan, your individual account will be refunded for the prorated cost of your original plan and your plan will be changed to Dropbox Family.

What happens to the "other" account.
Let's say we both have 6 months left on our yearly subscription.
If I upgrade to Family, my plan is "refunded for the prorated cost of your original plan and your plan will be changed to Dropbox Family."
But what about my wife's account when I add her to the family plan?
