Account closed by Dropbox; is everything deleted?
Is it since I received the email informing me that the account had been closed everything in the account was deleted?
Just wanna check any file had been uploaded to the account.
Also wondering why some account could be remained activated but some were closed, given all haven't been accessed quite a long period of time

Hi ljwaisman, sorry to jump in here!
Is it possible that you have any linked devices, that could still be linked to the old account you had?

Hey ljwaisman, if I were you, I would definitely search my email accounts for emails sent by Dropbox, to make sure which email address was associated with the account in question and to see if you can find any clues as to what happened.
If you know the email address and you are prompted to create a new account with it, when trying to sign in, it means that the account no longer exists for some reason and I'm afraid that if it got disabled, it cannot get reinstated.

For a long time, I have not been able to log into the account for reasons beyond my control. I could not log in for about 18 months because I was unfairly deprived of my freedom. Therefore, I cannot access the data in my account. Especially the baby photos of my children are very important to me. I would like you to help me to access the content in my account again, provided that I pay the fee.

Hi Gurkan Altun
Unfortunately accounts which are not accessed in over 12 months are removed for inactivity. https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/email-about-inactive-account
It is not possible to recover data / files from accounts which are removed in this way.

Grazie!

Hi Mowgli98, welcome to our Community!
Based on the error you mentioned when trying to access your Dropbox account, and the inactivity that was mentioned there; it sounds like it's been a long time since you last accessed your account.
If the account has already been closed due to inactivity, then I'm afraid there isn't much we can do regarding restoring your files.
The account would need to have an action within it just once every 12 months to be kept active. You can find out more about this here.
Sorry that I can't be of much help with this, but do let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!
PS: I've included a message that has been automatically translated, apologies for any mistakes you might find.

My email was [email removed as per Community Guidelines] was closed on 16/12/2018 due to inactivity I had thought my drop box was linked to a different email to the one stated above years later after retrieving my details on the email above I realised that my drop box was linked to that email, I had so many sentimental files and photo and videos that have now been subject for deletion! I don’t know how I can retrieve them as my email now dosent seem to exist, can I kindly be assisted kind regards!

I'm afraid it is not possible to recover an account deleted for inactivity - all data within it is wiped as the emails say 😞
Unfortunately that data is not recoverable via Dropbox.
