I can't log in on my iPhone or iPad; I get an error message that I've entered the wrong credentials.

Dropbox Plan: N/A
Are you a Team Member or Admin? N/A
Do you have access to the email linked to the account? N/A
Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? N/A

Question or Issue
I am a new user. I established a new basic account on web/desktop and downloaded Dropbox app to my iPhone and iPad, but could not log in on either. I get error message that I entered wrong credentials though I am using exact same email and password I use to log in successfully on web?

Any explanation/solution?

Thank you. I do not think that OneDrive has anything to do with my inability to log into DropBox. I have OneDrive installed on my desktop, and laptob, and I could easily log into DropBox app for Windows on both. The pobleem was limited to iPhone and iPad. On both my credentials were rejected as incorrect.

For now I gave up on DropBox. If I decided to try again, I may enlist your help. I am happy I did not sign for a paid plan before I discovered the problem.

I understand. In general, OneDrive and Dropbox are two separate cloud services, so one doesn’t affect the other.

If you wish to troubleshoot this further though in the future, or in case you need something else, you can always ping me on the forum and I’ll be glad to help.

Thank you for your response. I had tried this on both iPhone and iPad. Uninstalled turn dvices off reinstalled. Same result, can not log in. So I gave up. I am worried if I switched from OneDrive to DropBox I may get logged off DropBox and loose acces..

I'm sorry to hear that, tzraik. If you're still up to it, and in case you haven’t tried this already, you can restart your device next and then install the Dropbox app once again as a test, to see if it'll keep giving you the same error.

I was trying to find out if DropBox is a better alternative to OneDrive. But given the difficulties at first steps. I lost interest, and uninstalled DropBox apps for now. I am sticking to OneDrive.

    Thanks for the responses.

Hey tzraik, thanks for posting on our forum today.

Besides what Mark asked above, have you also made sure you’re not trying to link more than 3 devices to your Dropbox Basic account? If you’re not sure how many devices are currently connected to Dropbox, you can double check this at your Security page here.

If that’s not the case though, you can try resetting your Dropbox password on one of your mobile devices (after tapping on the “Log in” option and choosing “Having trouble logging in”). Are you able to access your Dropbox account after that?

    Let me know.
