I was invited to join a team, but I want to get my individual account back.
I had a personal subscription plan with 2 TB earlier, and one of my clients has added me to their Company DB account recently.
This is my 2nd time that the Admin of that company has deleted my account from their and now I cannot get my old files since I have re-registered with my email (xxxxxxx@gamil.com) to try to get my files promptly. Now I have a brand new account with 2GB of space.
I have already requested to add me to their company account again, then I can leave it by myself after restoring my files, hopefully.
Could you guys please help me out to correct this issue and get my Files back with the previous account?

Hi Isuru W, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
In general, a Dropbox team admin has the ability to recover deleted users from their team within 7 days to restore the content.
As this is something that needs to be done on their end, have you contacted the team admin to follow these steps to recover your old account?
Keep me updated with any progress!

Hey, thank you for the prompt reply Jay
I have already informed the team admin, and he is still not responding. I am afraid that this will take more than a week, and I will lose all my files forever.
Is there anything that we can do if the team admin doesn't respond, but I need to recover files from previous subscriptions within 7 days?

Hey Isuru W, just wanted to check if you had any updates on this.
I'm afraid that without the admin's help, our hands are tied as to how this works. They'd need to take action on their end, in order to restore your content.

Hey Jay , thank you for following up on my issue.
Still, Admin has not responded to me yet, and I am afraid that they will be late in restoring my account. Just curious if I can have more time from DB till Admin responds. - Rich31 days ago

That's not possible. The seven days is not an arbitrary number that can be changed. The system is programmed that way and can't be changed easily, nor can it be changed for a single person. The only option you have is to get in contact with the team admin. Perhaps you can reach someone else at the same company so you can stress the importance.

If that new account is still using the same email address that was on your previous account, I'd change the email address on the account so there's no conflict when the team admin restores your account.

Hey Megan Team admin has already added me to their DB team. However, now I have a brand new account, and all of my previous files are gone.
How can I get my old files back?

Hey Isuru W!
If your files were transferred upon your initial removal, you can have the team admin, or the person the files were transferred to, share them back with you.
That said, since we don't have any account-specific visibility, it might be best to get in touch with our support team directly.
Once you do, feel free to send me the ticket number reference, in order for me to locate it on my end.
Keep me posted!

Hey Megan !
Thank you for all your support. The admin has recovered my old account, and the files are now on the DB team. To avoid such kind of issues, anything I can do in the future? - Mark27 days ago

Make sure you read the prompts and messages when clicking on links - the process when joining a Team explains it clearly what happens when ou join and almost tries to force you to do a new account.
If they still want you on the Team set up a second email and THEN join using that email.
After you do that you can link the two accounts together so you can view on one device: https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/link-unlink-two-accounts
