I have been experiencing this issue for a while now. Every time I sync a file on my MacBook onto Dropbox, the Wi-Fi connection stops working for other applications, browsers, phones, and smart home devices. Can anyone give me suggestions on how to fix this issue? I've tried adjusting the bandwidth upload rate in the settings, but it doesn't seem to solve the problem. If you reduce the upload speed even further, to less than 100 KB/s, are you still getting this issue? Are you connected to a stable WiFi network, or via a hotspot?

Does this only occur on this network connection?

Hi there @AO6888 - sorry to hear about this.

Can you please let me know the app's exact status and version as shown in your menu bar?

Did you try rebooting your computer and/or internet router since you first noticed this?

Let me know more and we'll take it from there.

The current status is 'Your files are up to date.' I'm using version 189.4.8427.

I've been experiencing this problem for years. I tried rebooting everything, but it didn't work. What I've been doing is waiting until Dropbox finishes syncing. During this time, web browsers can't load, the Wi-Fi speaker drops out, and Alexa cannot connect to the internet. Everything returns to normal after the sync is finished. It's a pain when I have to constantly sync files.

Did you try reinstalling the app at all since you first noticed this @AO6888?

Also, what are your bandwidth settings in the app's preferences at the moment?

I did try uninstalling and reinstalled the app just now. The issue still persists.

Hi @AO6888, that behavior is quite odd.

Does this happen only when you use the app, or when you upload a file using the website too?

Hi Megan,

It seemed to happen only with the app sync. I just tried uploading via the website, and everything works normally.

Hi @AO6888, are you only getting this issue when syncing files from the computer to the site, or is it also when files are synced from the site?

Could you try limiting the upload speed even lower, to say half the speed, to see if this helps?

The issue only occurs when syncing (uploading) files from the computer to the server.

I just tried limiting the upload rate to half and a quarter of my WiFi upload speed result. Both didn't work. ðŸ˜¢
