File request folders not syncing

File request folders not syncing

fabmol
Explorer | Level 3

Hi

I use file requests heavily and up until a few days ago any new files uploaded through file requests would show up on my desktop pretty quickly.

Over the last few days, uploaded files are not syncing to the desktop. A few days ago I did see the file requests folder went into "online-only, no idea how. I've changed it back to "make available offline" but the latest files not syncing.

I have to search for the folder/file in the dropbox app and then request to show in the folder and then it shows in Finder.

I'm on OS-X (13.1) and dropbox v168.3.4773

Any ideas about what is going on?

Thanks

Fabio

Hi there @fabmol, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please clarify if you're making sure that the desktop app is 'up to date' and not still syncing in your menu bar when checking your file requests?

Let me know what you find and we'll take it from there, Fabio.

H @fabmol, could you try downgrading from the beta version by visiting this page and switching ‘Early releases’ to Off.

Afterwards, re-download the app from here.

I've done that and finally everything is up to date.

I'll keep my eye on the file requests folder as files come in later today to see if it syncs up properly.

Hi

So files are syncing but the folder structure (based on last upload) doesn't change. See below, there was a file uploaded (just under green bar, that's the folder). Usually the file just uploaded would push the folder to the top of the file requests list as I sort by most recent.

It not happening

Have you tried refreshing Finder by moving to another folder and then back into this folder?

Does this behavior (where the file doesn't move up automatically) occur with other files, and not just file requests?

What about in other folders unrelated to Dropbox?
