Can my admin see the file I deleted?
Hey quys I uploaded something to my work account, but from my dropbox and then I deleted it. It only appears on my deleted files and no one else from my coworkers. I was wondering if it appears on the delete file of the admin? can someone please help me?

Hey ID 1540981, thanks for posting your question here.
Just to clarify, was this file shared with the rest of your team or was it a personal file that you uploaded, without adding anyone else to view it on Dropbox?
Let me know, and we’ll take it from there.

Hello Nancy,
Thank you for your response. It was a personal file that I uploaded on the Dropbox app without adding anyone else to view it. So basically I just dragged it from desktop and accidentally dropped it into the Dropbox app but deleted it instantly.

Hi ID 1540981
Does it appear at www.dropbox.com/events?
If so, yes, in theory they could as they could log in as you/see your files etc., however, they'd actively need to do that - it wouldnt be obvious to them otherwise i.e. it wont appear on any of their default pages

Thank you so much for you response.
One more question. I was wondering if the admin can see the content inside the folder without restoring it or will they have to restore it back on dropbox to access the material inside?

They'd be able to click in to the folder like you can do on your own deleted files and folders and see names etc. before then restoring.
One thing you could try is to see if it will let you permanently delete it: https://help.dropbox.com/files-folders/restore-delete/deleted-files. However, it is possible that the account has this option removed.

Thank you @Mark
When I try I can see names end formats but I can't open them. Will it be the same for the admin?
Unfortunately I can't permanently delete it. - Mark4 years ago
