Downloading files too large.

Hello

I try to download several files in high size from same folder (ideally entire folder)

I can downlod any file separately

But when I try to download entire folder, i get error: ,,The Zip File is Too Large”.

Do I have to buy a subscription to be able to download them?

Also

I’ve been unable to find a way to download through desktop app.

Hey @AFie, welcome to our Community!

It sounds like you might be trying to download a larger folder using our website. Is the content added to your account, or do you access it using a shared link?

It sounds like the error you might be getting is due to the folder size. How big is the folder?

As for the desktop app, when you use it, your content should be automatically downloaded from the web, to your Dropbox folder. If trying to download from a shared link to a folder, you can click on the "Save to my Dropbox" option to add a copy of the files to your Dropbox account. The files in the link will be added to your Dropbox account and will immediately begin syncing down to your linked computers.

Keep me posted!

I think the size of the folder is something around 100GB.

Because of that, I am unable to add it to my dropbox.

I access it through shared link.

Thanks for clarifying that for us @AFie

In this case, since the limit for downloads from the website is 20 GB or 10,000 total files, you'll need to download the content of the folder in smaller batches.

I decided to go with free 5TB Trial and I am able to download

Downloading one folder works just fine (14GB)

But I am not able to download second folder as a whole which is definitely over 20GB

Also

It keeps downloading at a really low speed even though I have fast internet.

Hi @AFie, when you say that the speed is rather low, can you clarify if you're referring to the website, or the desktop app?

I am reffering to website

Hi from me as well, @AFie!

Please note that the downloading limit of the website is something that applies in general, and it’s not dependent on your Dropbox plan. So, even if you upgrade your account, you won’t be able to download more than 20GB of data at once via the Dropbox website.

If you check your local Dropbox folder on your computer, are you seeing the folder you wish to download there? Are you able to create a copy of it to another location on your device, outside of Dropbox?
