Downloads folder isn't accessible. What can I do?

I cant acces my download's folder via dropbox. Is there i way i can safely delete dropbox and get back in my downloads folder?

Can you try these steps and let us know if they help?

 

  • Open your Dropbox desktop app.
  • Click the Dropbox icon in the menu bar at the top of your screen.
  • Click your profile picture or initials in the upper right of the window that appears.
  • Click Quit.
  • Open a new Finder window.
  • Click Applications.
  • Double-click the Dropbox icon.

Hi @Jo93, thanks for posting here today! 

 

Based on everything that you described, it sounds like you have enabled our Backup feature, hence this behavior. 

 

There's no need for you to delete Dropbox, all you have to do is follow these steps, in order to disable the feature and move your files back to where they originally were.

 First of all i cant sing in, and everytime i start up my mac it keeps saying "could start Dropbox" How can i fix this so i can turn off backup-mode?

Well, I closed my dropbox like you told me. But when i open it from the application folder I can go into this menu in the photo but I cannot sign in or do anything

Hey @Jo93, are you still getting the "couldn't start Dropbox" pop-up error message?

 

If so, can you click the blue hyperlink to get to the error log and send us a copy, like Megan asked in her reply above?
