I get the following error message, and as someone whose job is to go through Dropbox and rename files, it's really slowing me down. I've tried opening it on a different web browser, I've tried restarting my laptop, nothing's working. I looked through some forums but never found a response. Here's the following info that was asked for in those other forums though.

  • Are you doing this on a computer or a mobile device?

Computer

  • Is this happening for all of your PDF files, some or only this specific one? If tha latter, how large is the file in question? (pro hint: .pdf files will preview on our website normally as long as below the 500 MB limit)

All

  • Do you get the same results on other browsers or after clearing your browser's cache (assuming you're on the website)?

I get the same results on other browsers but am trying to avoid clearing my cache if at all possible.

Hey there @ACabre, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Before clearing your browser's cache, can you try an incognito window or another browser with no extensions or plugins running and let us know if you still get the same error?

If you do, I'd appreciate a screenshot so that we can have a visual too.

Thanks!

Hi there,

I am having the same problem.  I have tried opening these files from Dropbox online, from my local drive, and using different browsers.  They won't open.  Not all .pdfs, just certain ones.  I also did an Adobe Repair, in case that was causing the problem.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I would really like to make sure these documents are accessible. I have been scanning documents, then shredding, so I no longer have these documents.

thanks for any help!

Beverly

Hey @bacarruth, thanks for posting and sorry to hear about this.

May I ask what is the size of the .pdf files that you're having trouble with? Are they within the previewing limit of 500 MB of the Dropbox website?

When you try to open these .pdf files, do they give you an error or nothing happens? If you see an error, feel free to send me a screenshot of it.

Other than the different browsers you used, can you also try using an incognito window as well?

Let me know how it goes!
