These are critical pre-sale questions. Dropbox Plan: Free, but buying Plus as soon as I have answers to my questions. Payment Method: Will be card. How did you upgrade?: Will be directly through the Dropbox website) Currently on free plan. Want to up upgrade to Plus for a month, then plan to switch to Yearly if this works the first month. (One place the site says there's a trial and then it doesn't. So this is how I have to do it.) Now on to my questions in order to purchase... This account to so people can see photos/documents and download. (It's sharing from our event but not with a free-for-all of people uploading photos.) I created a Folder with our event name and am sharing via Link to that Folder. There will be other folders inside that one. People will see that "main" folder and know they're in the right place. IF I use my name they will be confused. I'd like them to see the Folder Name and email address. But I expect you want a person's name when creating an account. Especially because I see so many people having account problems and there's no human being to help fix issues. So I NEED to know: How can I set my First & Last Name so that Dropbox honors my account and payment and knows I'm legitimate BUT viewers aren't confused? The other issue is that I do not want them to see my name and to be solicited upon arriving at the Link's destination? They see "[Name] shared this folder. Want to do more with it?" Log in/Sign Up." I only want them to see the folder I've set up. I am fine with them seeing a name at the top but not my first/last name. {I thought of putting our common group's name in first/last name but remember... I don't want payment problems.} Lastly, if I pay for 1 month and want to switch to yearly, when do I make that change? I don't want to do it too late. I don't want to do it at say 3 weeks and lose the 4th week. It's not clear when any cancellation takes effect or how far ahead of time it must be done. Hi, I had made a dropbox account in 2015 or 2016 under a now deleted email address that I no longer have access to. I can sign into the account, but cannot get past as it asks for a password reset, or sign-in code.. something of the sort. The point is, whatever it sends to the email, it is deleted and I cannot retrieve what is necessary to sign-in. This account might be the last place on earth to house invaluable pieces of my teenage years that I would like to retrieve. Is it at all possible to regain access given my situation? I really feel like this should be incredibly simple and clear but I'm not getting it! On my work PC I have 2 dropbox accounts synced (my personal and my work account) . I want to fully remove my personal dropbox from the PC without deleting the files of course. I cannot find anything on the windows dropbox app that says anything about syncing (admittedly I am a mac user and still a bit clumsy on windows) and all I can seem to do is delete files but then they are deleted everywhere. I want to completely remove all files from my personal account from only this one computer but keep them intact online and on my personal macbook. I don't understand why this is so unclear but I can't figure it out! We would like a (business-focused?) option where we can set a maximum percentage of free disk storage that the Dropbox app is able to use on-disk —ideally to be set within the Dropbox Admin Console and apply to all accounts, though with exceptions available, similar to how the "Storage limit per member" & associated "Exceptions" settings work today— plus a "hard stop" limit, e.g. pause syncing if free storage is <10 percent of total disk space. The general idea here would be if a system has 1TB of storage and 200GB already used for system/apps/email/whatever, Dropbox should not be able to use more than 80 percent of the currently-remaining free space. So in this example, assuming no change to non-Dropbox storage usage, if Dropbox's locally-synced storage usage exceeds ~640GB of downloaded files an actionable alert gets presented to the end user… and if they exceed the disk usage quota syncing gets paused until they free up storage, ideally by setting Dropbox files to online-only. This usage limit would need to scale dynamically, so that when Dropbox is using 200 GB (leading to 400GB total disk usage) and other processes on the system claim another 250 GB of storage (650GB total usage), Dropbox is now only allowed to claim another 280GB of the remaining 350 GB storage from that point in time. If other processes keep claiming free disk space the Dropbox app's limit should dynamically adjust until the hard-stop limit. This would help prevent situations we see now where somebody sets an entire project folder to offline mode (accidentally or without realizing just how much storage the folder will use) the Dropbox app will happily download files until the disk is completely full …which then causes all kinds of unfortunate knock-on effects and can be tough to reverse. With the addition of the Sync & Storage dashboard to make it easier for folks to see what is using up their space and quickly free up storage via Smart Sync Online-only mode, leveraging that to get people to offload Dropbox files —especially via a progressive series of alerts when their Dropbox folder is approaching/at the disk usage quota— would help prevent these disk-full situations caused by Dropbox. Hi! When logging in to the website, it used to send a verification code to my email. Now it only prompts the Dropbox app to authenticate log in, or via sms. It used to send to email but now I don't see it an an option. How to i add using email as login authentication option? Why does dropbox send send to the Dropbox app to. Authenticate log in?
