Embed video code. video not playing on iPhone (Safari, Chrome)
Hi, Dropboxcommunity! I have the following problem: I embed the code on the website to play the video: <video width='100%' autoplay='true' playsinline='' loop='true' muted='true\'> <source src...

Ok, let me show you the situation in more detail.
I embed video code into the Readymag project (plan - studio, all options are activated)
Video: mp.4 / 264 (2.7 Mb)
Also tried .mov
I tried 6 different versions of the code (see attachment), with all iterations - iPhone (Chrome / Safari) everything shows the PLAY icon (autoplay does not start) and after pressing PLAY the video does not play. (see attachment).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance 🙏

Important note!
If I try to open a link on iPhone (safari, chrome) I see an error (see attachment)

I mean if I copy the link into the browser window:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0acg085wlvdpfti/spaten_identity.mp4?dl=0
Then the player window opens in the browser and the video is played
but if I copy the link to the browser window:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/0acg085wlvdpfti/spaten_identity.mp4?raw=1
then the player is displayed and when you click on PLAY, the error shown above.Perhaps this information will be useful for resolving the issue?

Hi yarkinzhan
We're having a bit of trouble reproducing this issue on our end. I ran this by a colleague who was able to view the video you linked on an iPhone.
I have received word from another team member that embedding videos like this isn't supported at this time. which explains the inconsistency across platforms. While I can't make any guarantees or provide an ETA, it is a feature that we are investigating.
Regards,
Ben

Solution:
On the iPhone, browsers, especially Safari, use the bayte range "mechanism" to load media (videos and images, for example). The default dripobox file sharing urls do not allow this type of call. I spent a long time with the same problem, and the solution is very simple:
Change the sharing url from "www.dropbox.com" to "dl.dropboxusercontent.com".
Ex:
URL: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/nai9ek3ssssbz53ctjivenolt/sdsddss_20230926_203135.mp4?rlkey=sasaa&dl=1
to https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/scl/fi/nai9ek3ssssbz53ctjivenolt/sdsddss_20230926_203135.mp4?rlkey=sasaa&dl=1
Do this for videos and images, and everything should work fine in Safari, and in other browsers (Android, PC, etc.).- Walter3 years ago
