I want to delete the 'Mac' folder from my Dropbox
I unintentionally inserted a folder on the dropbox to be synchronized and I would like to stop the synchronization and delete it, but it does not allow me, the only folder that does not allow me. The folder has the Apple as an icon. whether you do it from dropbox.com or directly from the Mac Finder
- Could you have a look at the devices page to ensure that another desktop device isn't connected to your account?

Hey PDon, thanks for posting to our Community today!
It seems you have actually enabled the computer backup feature on your Dropbox application.
To delete this folder from Dropbox, you'll need to disable the feature first.
Let me know how it goes. - PDon4 years agoNew member | Level 2
Thanks for your answer, I checked and followed your directions, I was only able to delete the apple from my dropbox on the Mac, but it stays in the dropbox app and therefore it considers me the space full. I went to "preferences" and then to "backup" but it is not active from there.

Hi PDon, just to clarify, the computer backup feature is definitely disabled on your device, so it shows 'Set up' in the preferences?
Is it possible that you have another device that you could've connected to your Dropbox account, and enabled the backup there as well? - PDon4 years agoNew member | Level 2
it shows "configure" in preferences and I don't have another computer connected to that account

Hi PDon!
Once you've removed the device, you can then move the content out of your Dropbox folder or delete it, in order to free up space.

I also encountered this problem, I'm pretty sure it's a bug. After the Backups module is updated, the original residual My Mac folder cannot be deleted. I even reinstalled the OS, but it still doesn't work.

Hey dawenbin, thanks for the nudge.
Can you just clarify where you're trying to delete the "Mac" folder from?
And can you confirm that the computer backup feature is disabled, when going to the app's preferences?
