Is the Dropbox desktop application showing up as up to date, or syncing?
What message do you see when you hover over the Dropbox icon in the menu bar?
This will help me to assist further!

Could you try these steps to fix the hard links and permissions?- DaveYoungUK5 years agoExplorer | Level 4
Thanks again for your reply Jay
I solved the issue after Dropbox support asked me to supply the following:
- Screenshot of what you see when you open your Dropbox desktop app preferences and then click the Synctab. Under Selective Sync, click Choose folders (Mac). It should display the folders in your Dropbox account. If your folders appear to be unchecked there, this means that they are online only and they are not saved on your hard drive.
The folders were unchecked and when I selected the ones I wanted they became visible in my Mac Finder window.
Hope this helps others.
Dave
