Same problem here - I've tried all the suggested fixes and the hardlink fix-permissions fix-reboot worked once. But I can't do that every time I need to run Dropbox! It is usually one particular folder that is still consistently getting stuck. I have no Sync Issues listed, but the file never finishes syncing.

Morning, it seems the file is constantly updating due to a specific process, which was the reason for checking Onedrive (see my post last month). Is the file / folder traceable to a specific program? Would you be able to find the program that is using the file - open or closed does not necessarily matter, as the file can be updated due to some "smart" indexing. Find the program, stop the program and see if the problem persists. I fear there is no "one-for-all" fix.
Good luck!
Cheers!

Would this be on my computer? Or is it possible that it is on another team member's computer?

Hi valprice , that indeed is a very good question. It may be on your computer, that would be the easiest to fix, however, if you have a shared file with another team member, it could be the case this file constantly updates to your dropbox, generating "new information" which will lead to the other person's updating to their system. This does not happen if the file in question is only synced through dropbox, however, if the other person uses e.g. iCloud, Own cloud or any other web-based filesystem, she / he should have a similar problem. I suspect you have identified the file, check if the other users have the same issue and if they sync the shared file through DB and another third party.
If you can't verify this with the other users, identify the file in the dropbox on the web in your account and indicate you don't want it synced to your computer. This will delete the file from your computer (beware if you need this file...) and should eliminate the problem of sync between your computer and the cloud.
For what it is worth, I have deactivated all other clouds (moved possible conflicting shared folders out of DB) and my MacBook Pro is silent as the night.
Love to hear back from you!
Cheers,
Leen

Leen K. Unfortunately, it is the one file that I most need in that Dropbox. But I have a suspicion about who may be causing the issue, and remote support access to their computer, so I'll go on a treasure hunt later and let you know! Thanks.

I'm having the same problem. Drobox has been constantly synching three files for the past month, using high cpu/memory. I tried everything but nothing worked!
