High CPU Usage after updating MacBook Pro to MacOS Monterey (12.3)
I installed the latest MacOS update (Monterey 12.3) on my MacBook pro last night and now Dropbox is almost continuously syncing files and sucking my CPU usage. Fans are running almost constantly, and battery life has been dreadful as a result.
Anyone else experiencing this?
All my files are fully synced so I have no clue what files Dropbox keeps re-syncing and why over and over again. I've rebooted, turned Dropbox on and off. Pretty much everything I can think of other than deleting and reinstalling the desktop app.

I spoke with our engineering team to confirm that this issue was resolved. I'm following up with this thread to confirm that high CPU usage is no longer a problem for any users. Ensure your MacOS and Dropbox are up to date, and please let us know if this is still affecting you. Thanks!

Same problem here, it keeps re-starting the sync process several times a day reaching 200%+ of CPU.

I passed your comments to our Support agent assisting you with this. It'd be the best case scenario to reply back there, with any additional info you'll notice. That way they can troubleshoot immediately if there's a need.

The CPU temperature on my Mac MINI is usually about 60 degrees.
Dropbox made it at 90+ degrees. Dropbox created 144 threads. I have to quit dropbox to avoid my Mac mini getting damaged.
Fortunately, I am during the process of moving out.

Could you please let us know the exact version and status of the desktop app as shown in the menu bar of the affected computer?
Is it 'up to date' or still syncing?

Been putting up with this problem for ~2 months now, and just keeps getting worse. Rebooted 5 times today so far. Answers from support are "we know about the problem and we're working hard on it", but I really need some sense of how long this is going to take as my work productivity has fallen off a cliff. Ticket number is #16703478. Just add it to the list of tickets all stuck with something that seems like a really fundamental problem at the interface between DropBox and MacOS?

Same problem here. This is an ongoing problem, not a new one. Hopefully Dropbox will find a fix – we are thinking of changing to a different data storage solution
