I re-upgraded my account and now my files are gone from my Dropbox folder
Question or Issue
Today, on 12/14, I paid for my annual Dropbox Plus subscription ($119.88/year). I then went back to File Explorer, only to find that my Dropbox folders, which were originally syncing there, are now MISSING. WHERE DID MY DROPBOX FOLDERS GO ON MY DESKTOP?? I'm a graduate student wrapping up my Fall semester and cannot find my documents. Unfortunately, Dropbox itself stopped syncing with my MS Surface after September because I missed my annual date to pay and did not realize it. Thus, the documents are not in Dropbox itself. They were, however, stored and updated under Dropbox in File Explorer on my MS Surface. I used Dropbox on the web. I pray that this community can please help me restore my files. I look forward to hearing from someone as soon as possible. Thank you!

Hey Sherrema B., sorry to see that you're missing your files.
Did these files actually sync to your Dropbox account in the first place? And were they accessible from your account on the website?
If they never synced to your account, the biggest possibility here is that after re-upgrading, the desktop app started syncing again and it synced what you had in your account on the website.
In that case, we wouldn't be able to restore them on our end, since they never actually synced, if that makes sense.
Have you checked your hard drive, to see if you can find them somewhere else? Like, your Recycle bin?
Also, what do you see in your account on dropbox.com?
Keep me posted.
