My desktop app's stuck indexing files after rebooting my computer.
I had to reboot my computer and since I have restarted it, my files will not sync. Status shows either a red X or pending. I have tried to log out and log back in, reinstall the desktop to no avail. Last night, it said it was 'indexing' the files but this morning nothing changed. I restarted and shows it's indexing again. Not sure why my files will not sync?? This is for work so really starting to put me behind.

Hey czathey, thanks for posting here.
Can you send me a screenshot of your Dropbox app’s current syncing status?
I’d also like to know the app version you’re running at the moment.
Let me know once you have more info.

Hi,
Right now it says it's indexing 1,717,924 files and number is going down. I rebooted about an hour ago. Version is V 216.4.4420.

Thanks for updating me! Are you currently syncing more than 300k files locally on your Dropbox app? If yes, please keep in mind that this may cause performance issues from time to time, which is possibly what happened here.
Does the number of files indexing keep going down steadily so far?

I do have more than 300k files, this is for work and we definitely do have alot. I checked the indexing and it is going down. It's down to 1,298,424. Do you think this will work or may continue with performance issues? Hoping I can get it to sync today.

I do have four folders with the green checkmark now so I am hoping this is progress!

That’s definitely good to hear! It seems like it’s making progress indeed; due to the number of the files it’s taking a bit longer, but you should be good.
If it gets stuck somewhere though, and you need further help, feel free to ping me.

Once it finishes indexing, will the folders/files begin to sync? Curious next step to watch after the indexing is complete. Thanks.

No problem at all! During the indexing process, the app is basically scouting for any pending updates, so if there are any, it should sync them after that to our servers and to your Dropbox account online.

Great, thanks for the explanation. This is all new to me!
