No option to "make available offline" in Dropbox for Windows new version.
I had to uninstall and reinstall Dropbox for Windows desktop today, and now the Status column of all my files and folders has changed - previously they were all available offline but now they all have a cloud icon, i.e. they are only availably online.
In Preferences all my folders are selected, but the folders still have a cloud icon against them and their contents are still not available offline. And if I right-click on them there is no "make available offline" option.
So how can I get their offline status back?? I do NOT want ANY of my files to be online only - and none of them were before I reinstalled Dropbox desktop for Windows.

Also, why can't I edit my original post? It's very frustrating not to be able to fix typos. I can edit this reply but I can't see any way to edit my original post.
Also, under Preferences > "Default sync state for new files", "Available offline" is selected. But all my existing files are online only and I can't see any way to change that.

Hi there, Dave_Rado let's see what we can find together about this!
As a first step, can you clarify the exact OS version that you use on your Windows device?
While we're at it, can you also share with me the app's current syncing status, and version? You can find this by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon in your taskbar, next to your WiFi.
When did this behavior first start?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

"As a first step, can you clarify the exact OS version that you use on your Windows device? "
Windows 10"While we're at it, can you also share with me the app's current syncing status"
It says "Your Files are up to date". But as I stated in my original post, they're all set to be on the server only and not available offline, so that's meaningless - they haven't synced to my computer, despite what the syncing status says."and version?"
As I mentioned in my original post, I reinstalled it yesterday so by definition, I have the latest version. But it's 228.4.5567."When did this behavior first start? "
As I mentioned in my original post, it started as soon as I uninstalled and then reinstalled Dropbox for Windows yesterday.

Hey Dave_Rado, thanks for the info!
I'd like to have a visual of your files, and specifically what you see when you right click on them. Can you copy and paste a few screenshots, and attach them here?

How can one attach a screenshot here?

Hi Dave_Rado!
You can either click our camera-like icon, or use CTRL+C to copy the content, and then CTRL+V to paste it here.

Pasting works but there is no camera-like icon when I type a reply. This is what I see:
Here's the screen capture of the context menu in my Dropbox folders:

Hey Dave_Rado!
One more thing that I'd like for us to try. Can you also try these steps, and let me know of the results?
If the behavior remains the same, let me know and I'll reach out via email, in order for us to investigate further.

Hi Megan
Uninstalling and reinstalling Dropbox again has fixed it - but I have no idea why. The Windows UAC levels were already set to the default levels - I didn't change anything, I just uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox, which I had done the day I started this thread. Weird.
Anyway, many thanks.

Hey Dave,
I have the same issue. It's insane. I have had 200+Gig of stuff OFFLINE on my C:\Dropbox drive forever. Suddenly, three days ago, the wicked circles appeared and Dropbox started randomly deleting stuff from my drive. I stopped it when I realized but now missing 10 GB of random files across the board. When I tried changing the behavior (via preferences and making (again) folders "offlline only", it went crazy. Syncing 53K files, etc.
I tried reinstalling, not only did it not work but in the install process I'm not able to pick my C:\Dropbox drive anymore. I spent the best par of a day trying to reinstall. (I tried offline installer, cleaned up everything in between, etc.). Impossible to get back to my C:\Dropbox (It forces the creation of a new User\Dropbox folder and start downloading like crazy right away.
Waiting for support a Dropbox... no news. Any word of advice would be appreciated. 🙏
