I lost all space from referrals after getting removed from a Dropbox team

Question or Issue
My account was added to a Team Dropbox for a project last year. However, when it came time to remove me from the Team umbrella, I lost all my referral space and every folder that was ever shared with me by other users have been added into my storage. Is there any way I can correct this and get my space back?

Hey Eric M, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
Can you please give us a bit more info as to how you were removed from the Dropbox team?
Did the admin remove you and delete your account during that process or did they just convert your account back to an individual one?
If they simply converted your account, your referral space wouldn't have been lost; you'd just lose access to all team files and folders.
However, if your account was deleted during the offboarding process and you were prompted to create a new one when you tried to sign back in, then I'm afraid the referral space would also be lost along with that account.
Let me know what happened in your case and we'll go from there.

Hi Hannah,
"I reached back out to the user who had removed me from the Team. This is what they said.So on August 22nd, I did the following steps that were provided from a DropBox expert :
To convert a team member’s account to an individual account:
- Log in to dropbox.com with your admin credentials.
- Click Admin console in the left sidebar.
- Click the Members tab.
- Click the gear icon next to the name of the person you want to remove.
- Select Delete member.
- Click Convert to individual Dropbox Basic account instead.
- Click Convert account.
I currently only see the folder that was created by us for the EM project. I do not see any other folders.
I really did convert the folder. Cause i read the instructions twice... since they still ask to select DELETE...but then select the convert option - which I did!"
So it does sound like it was deleted during the onboarding process. I think I remember needing to create a new account as well.

Hi Eric M, thanks for the info. How much referral space did you own prior to joining the Dropbox team?
What do you see according to the referrals page on your account?
A screenshot showing this page, while hiding any names and email addresses, would be helpful!

In that case the referral space is lost I'm afraid.
An easy way to see if this did happen is to look at http://www.dropbox.com/events - does it show anything prior to the date you were removed from the Team?
