I've deleted all of my files on the desktop app, but my Dropbox account is still over-quota.

Question or Issue
Like many users I am getting the Team Storage error 2.65 gb of 2.0gb and I can't do anything to correct the error. I am the Admin btw.
I have deleting all of the files that I have on line, although I deleted some of them from my Mac as opposed to doing it by logging on to Dropbox.com. I suspect that the problem may be because of what the team members (7 of us) are storing on their local machines.
None of us are software experts, so we are doing our best to figure this out. (We are the Exec of a motorcycle enthusiast club and we use Dropbox to make our membership list and other documents available to the exec members.)
I have been trying to figure this out on my own and have not had any success. I would appreciate Andy help and guidance that you can offer.

Welcome to the community Goochman
Your Dropbox account may be over quota (2.65 GB used of a 2.0 GB limit), which can pause syncing and prevent changes until you’re back under the limit. The key thing to know is that other members’ local files do not affect your Dropbox storage unless the content is actually stored in Dropbox.
Please sign in on Dropbox web, delete or move some of the largest files and folders you own, and leave any shared folders you no longer need. Once your usage is back under 2 GB, everything should start working again (it can take a little time for storage totals to refresh).

Thank you for the reply.
I have already deleted all of the files (except for one small 243 kb file) on Feb 17th. Even today, it is still showing that I am over quota, even though the 0 bytes where the club files were stored.
I have been waiting patiently for it to update, but so far it hasn'tFull disclosure: In desperation, I have started a second dropbox under a second email address. At this point, I only have some small test files there. I was trying to separate my personal files into a new Dropbox that would then be independent of the club files. I don't know if that might have an effect my problem.

Gotcha, thx for the additional details. Creating a second Dropbox account will not affect the storage on your original account, so we can focus on what’s still counting toward the original quota.
Even if “All files” looks empty, your storage can still be over quota if you’re a member of a shared folder, since shared folders often count toward your storage total. Please log into the original account on Dropbox.com, go to your storage details, and check whether you’re still part of any shared folders you can leave.

Also, please provide a screenshot of your usage details as shown on your Plan page. It should look like this:

I hope this is what you need.
Did I mention that there are 7 people sharing this Dropbox?
Thanks

HI Goochman, just for clarification, are these people sharing the same account, as in you're sharing the account credentials with them?

Jay,
I am the admin on the account. I have shared the account with the other 6 members of the executive. The account that I am using has been my personal account for years.
I did use the account to transfer a bunch of photos from our President to a family member through the account. I had for gotten the photos completely, until I found a couple of folders on my personal hard drive that still contains those photos. As far as I know, they are not still connected wth the account, but I could be wrong. They don't show up on the things that I can see when I look.Dave G

Since the screenshot shows that the majority of the quota is being used up in shared files or folders, could you check out the shared tab on the Dropbox site to see if there are any files there taking up a lot of space?

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for. The first screen shot is what came up with the "shared tab" link.

Thanks for the image, this is a team folder, which is also shared, which means that there could be some files in that folder which would be taking up the quota.
Are you able to go into that folder to see the size of the files within?
