My account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't
Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned out all deleted items, but it makes no difference. I have been unable to contact any sort of support through the website, so am hoping someone might know how to fix this. Thanks.

My dropbox basic account shows that is full. But i only have one shared folder which is 758mb in size, but my account shows that i have used 2.19 GB.
I have checked any files but there are none. Please help with the request. - Megan3 years ago

Hi mnjawala, let's jump right into this!
I assume when you mention that there's nothing in your Dropbox account, you've also checked your Backups, right?
Based on your screenshot, it looks like the feature is enabled, which would explain the space error, you're getting.
Let me know more!

Why do I get notificaion that I using 25.2 GB of 22.9 GB storage althought my entire Dropbox folder is only 18.2 GB?

Hi luciferkhanh, welcome to our Community!
The best way for you to accurately check your storage is online, through your plan page.
When checking your Dropbox folder locally, there might be some discrepancies due to syncing issues, or settings that you chose.
For instance, if you chose to selectively sync a folder, that means you wouldn't see the folder locally inside your Dropbox folder, therefore it would appear smaller.
Do you use selective sync for any of your content?
I hope this helps!

Can you please explain to me why my new free account that has 2 GB of storage space is telling me that I have exceeded capacity by 9.7 GB when I have NOT POSTED ANYTHING. I do not understand how this is happening.

You likely enabled the backup feature. Check your Backups page.

Hey RolliezSez, apart from your backups page that Rich suggested, make sure to also check if you have any shared folders, because those also take up space in your account.
I hope this helps!
